Founded in 1969 as CREST, Welsh Coast Surf Club is Wales’s oldest and biggest boardriders association.

Covering the area from Sker to Ogmore, WCSC has over the years fostered some of the best surfers ever to come out of this country such as multiple British champions Linda Sharp and Simon Tucker, three times Welsh champs Greg Owen and James Thomas as well as a current generation of dedicated rippers.

The club welcomes new members and has an active and accommodating social scene. Annual events such as the Tsunami Cup and legendary Surfers Ball are facilitated by the club and its members, who, regardless of history or bank balance, are what makes WCSC what it is.

The Wilkinson Sword

As the 2012 champions Welsh Coast Surf Club hosted the Welsh Interclubs at Rest Bay, Porthcawl on Sunday the 10th March in tricky conditions. Four of the Welsh surf clubs attended each with an A and B team.

The forecasted large swell was being kept at bay by strong offshore winds which bit through even the best wetsuit but despite the tricky conditions there was some great surf action and after a full day of closely fought heats the final top 3 teams were;
Langland Board Riders 126
Welsh Coast Surf Club 124
Channel Coast 108

Langland will take care of the Sword until this time next year when they will run the Wilkinson Sword at Langland and Welsh Coast Surf Club will competing to return the Sword to it’s rightful home!
